Miki Sudo has secured her ninth Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Contest championship, setting a new women's record with 51 hot dogs. The victory came after a dramatic finish with Mayoi Ebihara, who ate 40 hot dogs.
The contest was held at Coney Island on July 4th, 2023. Sudo's win marks her ninth consecutive championship, breaking her tie with Sonya Thomas for the most women's victories in the event's history.
Joey Chestnut, known as "Jaws," won the men's contest for the 15th time last year by eating 63 hot dogs. Sudo's victory over Ebihara at the finish was a major upset, as Ebihara had been favored to win.
