UNC's Drake Maye Earns ACC Second-Team Honors
Junior Quarterback Leads Tar Heels to 9-4 Season
Maye Throws for Over 4,000 Yards, 36 Touchdowns
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye has been named to the All-ACC Second Team for his standout performance in the 2023 season.
The junior signal-caller led the Tar Heels to a 9-4 record, including a 5-3 mark in conference play. Maye threw for 4,142 yards and 36 touchdowns, while completing 64.5% of his passes. He also rushed for 643 yards and four scores.
Maye's impressive season included three games in which he threw for over 400 yards. He also threw for at least two touchdowns in every game he played.
The son of former UNC football standout Mark Maye and brother of former Tar Heel basketball star Luke Maye, Drake Maye has emerged as one of the top quarterbacks in the country. He is expected to be a candidate for the Heisman Trophy in 2024.
